Overall, one of the best roller coasters anywhere due to the variety of elements experienced in a single ride. Where other roller coasters might give you one or two special thrills, California Screamin' packs in a waterfront launch on the lake, a traditional "lift hill", several air-time moments, a loop, helixes, a smooth ride, and a very long one at that, and interaction with other attractions/areas of the park. Add in an on-ride soundtrack and you've got quite an amazing attraction. The only drawback is the over-the-shoulder restraints, but the smooth ride makes these barely noticeable.

My favorite ride! I have met six year olds that liked this ride! My dad loved it the first time i took him to California Adventure. The line may look long but it goes quick!

I hate to give this coaster a 3, but I had approached it with the assumption that the soundtrack would be working.

It wasn't. Both of my rides were silent.

That was the killer. I was expecting the soundtrack and got nothing.

As a coaster, it is excellent. I am glad I rode. They just need to make sure the soundtrack always works.

Ok, 4 seconds isn't bad. I guess it depends if you want a crazy and intense themed attraction, or a lengthy and relaxing less themed attraction.They are both rides that I would take down a whole section or even HALF of most parks like SF for, but this just depends on what you want.

Yes, I can say the launch is slow.Maybe slow is different in your opinion, but 0-55 in about 5 seconds isn't fast.Now, 0-55 in 4 seconds is okay, but could still be better.And by the way, OTSHs always bother me unless it's a stand up or inverted coaster.Hit your head or not, I hate them.
And if you wanna see a fast launch in Disney, RnRC wins that in 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.And in the world, DODONPA WINS WITH 0-107 in 1.8 seconds.So, there's my views.

Never been on it, but it looks fun.However, the launch on it's waaaay too slow, but the LIM lift hill's cool.I really don't like the shoulder harnesses and it should use lap bars instead.It's very nice looking and unique, but RnRC looks much better.This is still fun lookin, though.

Great! Fantastic! The music really adds a lot! If any kids (or nervous moms) are reading this you can't really feel the loop. It's not so scary at all. Definitely the best ride in the park next to GRR and Soarin'. Worth any wait!

Pretty good, pretty good. I like the on-board music, that's always fun. The acceleration at the beginning is fun as well, but somehow, I couldn't help but compare this Disney coaster to Magic Mountain's coasters, and it just stack up. Oh well. Maybe next time.

I understand that these coasters all lacked theming in the past but that may be a reason I don't give it a 4/4 for this one. The music onboard is a bit yucky annoying as well. A very, very fun rollercoaster! It's smooth, longer than some, and the onboard music gives it the extra touch. Though, I wished it had tunnel to go through (like a lot of older classic coasters have) with some unique "something" that can only come from Disney, and a queue that could tell a story.

Queue area needs help, like nothing there. Ride is a kick in the butt! but could use a spiel with a surfer twist like the one on Big Thunder Mountain. "Dudes! Better hang on to those hats and glassess! This is the wickedest ride on the Pier!" If you ever played with the old Disney "Coaster" software, this is one you might have designed!

One of the funnest things at the parks is people watching. I agree that the que area needs some theming. Would love to see a feed from their coaster camera to giant video screens all around the cue area showing the photos of the guests ahead of you ON the ride. Would be great entertainment (and would probably sell more photos for Disney). What a fun, ever changing and high tech preshow that would be!

This coaster is the best coaster to hit California since GhostRider! Truly a blast! It never lets up! The launch is the best part, especially since you launch in the middle of a lake. The loop is fun as well. Best of all, it's a SMOOTH ride! If you come to DCA, this is a ride you must experience for yourself.

A great coaster, not to be missed. The launch, pacing, and "smoothness" are highlights. Somewhat disappointing are the harsh "stops" both before the LIM launch and at the end, and the lack of theming in the queue. But still a great attraction.

I am 49 years old and still crazy -- and I LOVE THIS RIDE!! It was awesome.
I can't say anything bad about it. It's spectacular at night if you have the presence
of mind to look around and can get in the front. Yes, the pix are expensive ($17 bux) but I
did get one anyway -- they do come out rather nice. Lower theprice to around $10 or so
and it's a hit.

This is my favorite ride in CAlifornia Adventure. I like that the loop on the coaster is the face of Mickey!

Great rollar coaster! the drops could be steeper but overall gave the only thrills in the area. (the pictures are a rip off $17??)

This was the coaster I have done in awhile. I though the two bumps at the end were a bit much but It was a great smooth ride. I thought that there might be more wooden coaster "themes" for example on a real woodie you hear the beams move as you go over them. never the less an excellent ride. I must of rode 5 times before I had to go home.

Coaster was good, but the sound was not working. Even without the sound though, it was one of the best coasters I've been on. I can't wait to try it again with sound. Smooth!

I'm still having problems with this middle-aged thing.

This ride was great, fun, a blast, and everything I hoped it would be. It's not like a Goliath, it's more like a great seaside coaster.

GREAT COASTER!! We rode it three times!!! The line moves fast! The music is great, and essential... one of the times we rode the music was not working, and it really took away some of the atmosphere of the ride. overall a GREAT roller coaster!!!

Really live up its name.Everyone screams on this ride especially going around the MM loop.But be prepared to stop suddenly near the end.And the queue needs some themeing.

Great comfortable ride, better than Rockin' Roller Coaster at WDW, but the queue area needs themeing and something interesting to look at while you're waiting in line.

A great ride with great sound, great airtime, and great speed. The shuttle launch is awsome. I wish that the poorly themed barrier wall will be painted like old boardwalk ride posters or something cool like that. Right now it looks plain and bland. It looks too much like Knotts.
