I'm just not a fan of riding the canoes but I enjoy watching guests paddle around the river. Looks like it's difficult to stay dry and it definitely looks like the arms get quite a workout.

Funny how this attraction always draws comments on the hotties who work it. :) I worked attractions at the park for ten years and never thought these guys were any cuter than any of the other guys who manned other attractions. Hmmm. Curious.

If Fess Parker was rowing, I would go along for the ride...otherwise too much work...nonetheless, if it's a warm day, the canoes are out, then take the trip down the Rivers of America..kids will luv it, but I'd rather have my feet up on the bow of the Mark Twain and enjoy the same sights and sounds.

A family tradition. What more can I say. The kids have a blast and adults get a cool of from the backwash off their paddles.

i like the canoes. even if i don't necessarily ride them that often they are fun to watch.

Don't be afraid! Try it and you'll love it. The guides are funny (I think they bring them over from the Jungle Cruise) and a little cometition never hurt. Fun. Fun. Fun.

Did this once and probably never again, until I'm in shape. This is hard work when your canoe is full of little kids.

I only went on them ONCE--EVER! They Kind of made me because I was with the Girls Scouts. It's okay. But something I definetely don't want to do during the hot summer.

I love the canoes sooo much. My friend and I spent a few days at Disneyland...many times during those days we went on the canoes. It was the best...we got the same to guides each time. They were the best! I LOVE THE CANOES AND THERE BOIS! LoL

I went on this ride 40 times in 5 times, 12 times in one of those days. No kidding, just ask the ppl who worked there. I even got to row around the river with the big paddle that usually only the employees get to use, but only once. I *love* this ride! And the employees make it even more fun.

I love this ride! The guides are so friendly and they make paddling more fun.. plus it's a great upper arm work out! haha. Just don't sit in front of little kids or u might get wet.

I wish jaded park employees wouldn't spoil it for the guests. Our guide was silent 3/4 of the time and not funny the rest of the time. He knew one joke: "On your left you'll see a tree. On your right you'll see another tree." Unless you count egging us on to hurry up as a joke. Like the host in the stretching room at the Haunted Mansion, the canoe guide really makes or breaks this attraction.

It would have been a lot more fun, except for the kids in our canoe who had the goal to get everyone else as soaked as possible.

A good long relaxing ride around the Rivers of America, line doesn't move very fast though.

This is a great ride and one of those "only in Disneyland" type of experiences. It adds immensely to the Rivers of America. And it also helps that the Canoe guys are some of Disneyland's cutest employees who look great in the Davy Crockett costumes!

I like this one just because it the rare Disney attraction where you get to actively participate. Adds imeasurably to the authenticity of the Rivers of America.

As an Ex-Cast Member, I can honestly say that life on the River was not exactly easy - especially on the Canoes! It's a great idea, but typically, Disneyland guests do not like manual labor. It never fails to get to the back of the River and have 16 people decide to stop paddling - it makes for a LONG ride back! Splashing can be a problem, as the River's water is nasty - and the occasional dreaded "tip over" happens more than it should, making headlines whenever it takes place.

I've always been a sucker for attractions that are simple and rather old fashioned. The Canoes are a perfect example. Powered completely by its riders, the canoes take you through the calm and sereene backwoods of Disneyland and offer a classic view of the park without any fancy bells and whistles. Watch out for kids in front of you though, as I haven't met one yet who's been able to figure out paddling. Funny how the parents think soaking the boat is so cute! ;)
