While the old ride had charm, this version is just so sad. There are one or two effects that give you hope that the attraction might be fun, but the rest of it is just so dead space.

Disney owns Dreamfinder and Figment. There is no reason they had to replace the original BEAUTIFUL ride with this uninspired crap. The beginning of the original attraction is what I miss most of all. What a wonderful marrage of carosel, audio-animatronics and ride vehicle to tell the story of two wonder-filled characters.

I love this ride. A lot of people say it's not what it used to be, but I never rode the original ride so I have no problem with it. I love it. It's definitely a favorite of mine.

when I first whent on this ride I was not aware that it had ever been changed since I first Went to EPCOT in 1997, so I was a bit shocked to find out that the ride was entirely different. but all that said. I still find the Imagination attraction to be one of the most fun experiences in EPCOT. I have never experienced this ride throuhg a child but I'm shure kids would love this ride to death. plus the fact that Dr. Channing though no dreamfinder is eric idle formerly of Monty python has to be worth something. Say wouldn't it be cool if the got idle to play dreamfinder in a revamp.....

The original was my favorite when I was a kid. In my opinion probably the biggest mistake Disney made by gutting the original. The current version is okay at best. unless you have young children I'd skip it.

I've only been to the third incarnation of this attraction, but I think this one is funny, the way Figment's imagination kept on twisting Channing's test. One part I really liked was the part when the butterfly riding the swing in the cage suddenly dissappears. I think this ride is what kids and even the older crowd would enjoy.

I gave this a 2 simply because it's mildy enjoyable and Figment is back but it is no where near as good as the original. The new one relies way too much on technology and little optical tricks. The original was so much simpler but so much more superior. One Little Spark was one of the best ride songs ever too.

What a scream...we love it and ride it every time we visit Epcot (usually twice yearly) can't wait till November...by the way don't wear sunglasses on your head in this one as my husband had his blown off (oakley's)but luckily we got them back????

According to figmentsimagination.com,the original ride was shut down because of a contractual agreement with Kodak--in other words,a great ride was destroyed by corporate politics!

This ride possesses none of the whimsy,charm,or detail of the original ride.I've seen Imagination! in both its incarnations--putting Figment back didn't help.The old ride was wall-to-wall enchantment;in this one,you ride a few feet,an illusion is shown,you ride a few feet,etc.I know they can't bring back the original,but I expect a whole lot better from the Imagineers.Bring back Dreamfinder!!!And keep in mind--whimsy,charm,and detail!

An interesting combination of sciences and technological advances, but full of surprises. This ride (recently remodeled from the original) is great for a
"pitstop" as in to rest for a while. The line is usually a walk on as well, because it isn't the most popular attraction you'd find. My dad loves to ridicule the ever so annoying song... "Imagination..." yada yada yada!

I miss the atrium...it is sad to not have that anymore. The whole feal of the "Imagination" pavilion is very un-imaginative. Anyone know why Disney spent so much money to gut the original building to replace it with a second rate attraction, second rate ImageWorks, and kill off the atrium??

This ride gets the worst rating... a 1. Why? Because they ruined a classic and replaced it it twice with low-budget un-inspired rides. They should close it until imagineers could come up with an inspired concept to replace it with a real budget. I've heard this replacement had a budget of $5 million. In trying to save money, they wasted $5 million, in my opinion. Once a good concept is developed for yet another replacement, give it the budget it would need to make it work!

This ride was one of Disney's "genius ideas" of renovating a new ride, to keep people attracted to it. I with like 80% of the people who responded to this one, I also am very disappointed..The ride was way to short, and it has no point whatsoever. This one should be reviewed by Disney and planned again, what a total disgrace!! The track configuration was also different, 100% sure that this was not the original layout..

Great Ride!!!!!! Figment is wonderful and its a lot of fun for anybody. This is one of the more memorable rides I was on during my stay at WDW and it left that catchy tune in my head for weeks. Im looking forward to riding it again and for the next update which will hopefully have Dreamfinder.

I don't want to get anybody's hopes up, but a friend of mine that worked there as a marketing rep last year told me this month(March-2001) that they had received so many complaints about not having Figment that they are working on a comeback. Again it could go through or it could just be that they will not follow through because of its great cost.

I never saw the orgional ride so I am a little bit mor objective and don't have nostalgic reasons for disliking the new ride. The theming is Good and the ride is well thought out Besides the Land this ride was my favorite in Future World I rate it a Solid 3(It could be a Little bit Better if they put more figment in)

There are certain rides, and characters I keep going back to Disney For. Figment and Dreamfinder are two of them. This ride is awful!! People need to STOP messing with classics. If they want different rides, build them. I want figgie back :(

I heard that they might tinker with it again and at least put Figment back in, I hope they do and make some real improvements.

I am utterly apalled. The ride is like something you'd find by itself out on 192 next to that maze thing and Zanadu or whatever. The original ride was awesome and Figgie is the cutest thing ever. Perhaps Disney thought they made too much money and had too much of a following so they'd enrage a large chunk of them and help balance the economy. Grr.

I am a huge Figment fan and was shocked and appauled at the new ride. Where did all the magic go? Please bring back Dreamfinder and MORE FIGMENT!!!! The saddest part was in the gift shop after the ride they play a very soft instrumental version of the original song. My heart lept at goodtimes past. The ride needs more fun and more figment!

*ps- If any of you are going to EPCOT make sure you go to customer service and complain because I talked with them and they said that the more complaints they get, the closer they are to putting figment back in his right place! It'll only take 5 minutes and the guy I talked with was super nice and said that never have they had such a response to the change in a ride as they have with Journey into Imagination!

I only remember this as Journey INTO Imagination, which I thought was one of the most fascinating Attractions in Futureworld along with Horizons, Spaceship Earth, and World of Motion.

BOY, things have changed, and so has the attitude in Burbank! I know the sponsor had a bad year, and didn't have enough money to properly redo this Attraction, while Disney holds onto their cash. Which is why they should have left it alone, until they were able to do it right....later!

Will it ever be what it once was before? I wish I knew.

We visited in Dec' 99 and all the Figment merchandise was reduced to clear. This year they had lots of Figment stuff all at full price so maybe a return for Figment is on the cards!

The only ride the 5 year old wanted to do again even though it is loud. The upside down section was too fascinating to miss. We rode the first time on the first day and the second time on our last day. This is the same 5 year old that hated all other dark rides.

Kodak got ripped off.
An interactive cross between Buzz's Spin
and Kodak's digital photo
tech. where you snapped shots
of figment for points would be an E ticket.

Instead they get the lamest
attraction in WDW.

No imagination in the creation
of this ride at all. Epcot needs
more stuff that like Dreamfinder
was good family fun.

This is without question the worst ride "improvement " ever. The loss of the adorable figment into almost oblivion and the elimination of the dreamfinder really took the spark out of the attraction. The new ride contains little storyline or logic. It was a big disappointment.

My rating is actually a bit low in regards to my actual feelings. It's a ride that could profit from a little tweaking, but I really think it's getting a bad rep here and elsewhere - I found it charming and sunny, and a good thematic match with "Honey I Shrunk the Audience".

God knows why this Epcot Classic was ever messed with. Bring back DreamFinder and Figment - the ONLY character that Epcot had to market as its own! This new version makes no sense and I can't *imagine* what Disney was thinking when they opted to ruin this attraction!
