Not the best ride ever but it's still pretty fun and can be a great escape from the florida heat. A couple scenes may be a bit scary for kids.

My wife and I LOVE this ride. Her favorite part is the Wizard of Oz scenes. My favorite is the scene from Casa Blanca. This is really great for movie fanatics like myself. It's another ride from Disney that makes fantasies come true.

A great experience that puts you into some of the greatest movies of all time. The effects inside are pretty good, and the storyline is pretty mysterious. There are two different types of shows. If you ride in the front cars (once you're in the queue) you'll get a scene in the west where a bank is blown up. If you're in the back cars, you'll experience a downtown New York gangster shoot out. It's all pretty exciting and can easily frighten young kids, especially in the scene from Alien.

This is a good ride, but needs updating (ala Ellen's Energy Crisis). It should get a new film for the que and the end. It should also get scenes placed in from some newer movies produced since the ride opened in the late 1980's.

Nice queue... It felt like we where on the move the whole time. The cinema with previous is a good start. I still don't know if I like the ride yes or no. The nice thing are the Cast Members and there spiel with the movies and scenes around them. I did hope to see a scary Alien but that was a bit of a let down... (I know whit kids on the ride it could not be more)... Nice ride system though. I'll have to do this one again to see if it will go to my like or dislike corner....

As a cast member at The Great Movie Ride I must say that this is the best attraction at the Studios. You get to become part of the movies, what more can you ask for? And to anyone who complains about the "actors", I'd like to see you up there in front of guests for 13-14 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. Most of the cast works their butts off to give guests an enjoyable experience. Please remember that audience participation plays a huge role in the show. If you don't show your love to the tourguide they won't show it to you. And I'll look for you the next time I'm the bad guy. So enjoy it!

Great Movie Ride is, well, great! I hope Disney doesn't screw this one up. Even though a I don't know anything about a lot of the movies in here, it's still really cool. It's about the sights, the smells, and the sounds. The end movie could really use an update, as movies have REALLY advanced since what they show there. Best scene is the gunfights, but it's not loud enough, and a fire effect on a building never works when I go through. The Wizard of Oz scene would be cool if I didn't always get stuck in back of the car next to the Wicked Witch. My driver always just sits there while the driver in front talks to the Witch. I think a Star Wars section should be added, since it is one of the greatest film series' of all time (duh)!

I was very thrilled that Disney at this time (1989) was still very much committed to the art of the Disney Dark Ride. Because it's one of the best! The Munchkin Land sequence and western segments are among the best. While some scenes are, to a degree, static, the basic concept is great. And there's no reason some scenes can't be changed or updated with newer and better effects. A wonderful dark ride that should endure as long as the park exists.

A great ride, hope it gets an update soon. Thanks to the actor/driver, it's different each time. I would hope that they get better 'actors' in the future, of late they even feel like it's a joke to do the 'show', like JC sat MK...the human element can make or break the magic.
Can't wait to see the 'big hat'...which I hear will stay after the 100th promotion...just like epcot's 'name tag', at least the castle did not stay pink!

I'm a big fan of the movies and love this ride. Seeing clips and diaramas of the classic movies wre great. However, I've seen the same ride for quite a long time. Some scenes should be changed or added.

I thoroughly enjoyed this ride for a few reasons. I am a classic movie buff, so seeing Casablanca, Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind was positively wonderful! The very end where you see movie clips from all of the great movies that have been made, it proves just how entertaining the film industry has been for the past 80 years. And lastly, this is a great ride to get out of the heat and off your feet for a good 20 minutes! :)

PLease don't close The Great Movie Ride, it would be disrespectful to movie history, becides the "Old HOLLYWOOD" theme would be totaly lost with out The Great Movie Ride.This is the only ride with that neat into the movies feel to it. The Wizard Of OZ is the best, great finalie!!!

I think this ride needs to stay. Although the younger crowd enjoys thrill rides (Tower of Terror, Rockin Rollar Coaster, and Star Tours) the park needs to also have attractions that those who do not enjoy thrill rides can enjoy. More importantly, this attraction covers movie history, which is the key element of the park. it captures that "Old Hollywood" flavor that is not found in the rest of the park.

With the exception of the enjoyable "Raiders" sequence, the ride manages to only point out the shortcomings of audio-animatronics technology, especially during a "Casablanca" scene that captures nothing of the feeling of the movie, or of movies in general. An awkward waste of time that overreaches.

This is still a very polished attraction, with a clever narrative, but the scenes haven't been updated to include some more recent hits. The updated film montage hardly works - the new scenes don't adequately cover 90s films ("Sister Act", but not "Titanic" or "Forrest Gump"?) and it ends really abruptly. I hope this attraction gets a real update soon - NOT a replacement, though; this ride is vital to the spirit of the park!
