Walt Disney Art Classics Presents
A Disney Blast to the Past

Part One

On May 14-16, Walt Disney Art Classics presented their sixth celebration at the Disneyland Resort. The weekend long event was themed as a reunion/graduation at Medfield College. Medfield, as any Disney fan knows, is the fictional setting for five Disney comedies, produced between 1961 and 1975.

Things kicked off on a high note Friday night with the Medfield College Associated Student Body "Welcome and Senior Orientation. The Disneyland Hotel Center Ballroom was transformed into the Medfield Gym, complete with red and white balloons and streamers.

The committee went all out in decorating the "gym.

Tables were set with pennants and pom poms. The meal was typical college fare: hamburgers and hot dogs, followed by apple pie and cookies.

Following a welcoming orientation and announcements, the Medfield Fight Song was taught to the assembled "students by none other than the composer himself, Richard Sherman, half of the Academy Award winning team of the Sherman Brothers.

Special Music Instructor Richard Sherman led the students in the Medfield Fight Song.

Student spirits were high during the rest of Senior Orientation.

Earlier in the day, Registration, Autograph signing, and the Medfield College Fine Art Exhibit were held. Each conventioneer received a specially designed bowling bag, which held an Art Classics piece especially created for the event.

The bowling bag, distinguished by the event logo, held an Art Classics piece that resembled Mouse Ears.
