Share a Dream Come True Parade at the Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom
The Magic Kingdom has been less affected by the cutbacks than some of the other parks. That is because the Magic Kingdom continues to draw crowds when the other parks are empty. That is not to imply that the Magic Kingdom isn't slow by any means. The Magic Kingdom is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays through Fridays and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays. It may surprise some of you to know that the 9-6 hours were the normal operating hours for the Magic Kingdom in the fall throughout the 80’s. With the new Share A Dream Parade Come True Parade at 3:00 p.m. daily and with Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks every night at park closing you can still have a great day in the park. And don’t forget Spectromagic at 7:00 p.m.and 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Cinderella’s Surprise Celebration is a new show that takes place daily at the Castle Forecourt Stage and is followed by a Character meet and greet.

Legend of the Lion King is still playing daily in Fantasyland. The sad news of course is the closing of the classic Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland. Disney has no plans to reopen this attraction that has been pleasing audiences since its debut at the New York Worlds Fair in 1964. Don’t forget to stop by the Hall of Presidents and see the new George W. Bush Audio Animatronic figure.

How to enjoy the Magic Kingdom: If you want to see SpectroMagic then your choice is easy - Saturday is your day at the Magic Kingdom. But be warned that Saturday is the busiest day of the week at the Magic Kingdom. If SpectroMagic is not important to you then just about any day during the week will offer you plenty to do and lots of entertainment to see. A hint: If you have a 4 or 5 day park hopper ticket you can visit the Magic Kingdom during the week when the park is less crowded then return on Saturday to catch SpectroMagic. The changes in the park hours means that to enjoy a full day in the park you will need to move through the park at a little faster pace. Take advantage of FastPass where its offered.
