New Year's Eve at Disneyland

At 9AM the crowds coming in the main gate had slowed down considerably. The rains were beginning to do their work. Still many people had entered the park in the early rush and it felt like a Saturday in the summer.

Dark clouds continued to dump their watery contents all over Disneyland. Still there was a break long enough to get the 2PM parade launched. Pre-parade even showcased a few bands that would march in the Rose Parade the next day.

By 2PM the castle had already begun to attract a few families camping out for the nights festivities. Little did they know that hours of rain were yet to come. In fact, for the first time all season, the skies opened up on the Christmas parade and they had to complete half the parade route drenched.

During the rest of the day everyone in attendance found ways of entertaining themselves. Some braved the long attraction lines, some brought radios or portable TVs from home to follow the days events.

Others tried to find in park entertainment groups that hadn't yet been rained out. I did manage to catch the 4:30PM show of Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. The only show of the day, due to the rainy weather. Definately a downside of their new location.
