Mario also described the technique of the epoxy-domed pins. "Epoxy is placed on pins to protect the color underneath. With soft enamel, because the color is so light, and there's such a thin layer of enamel there. What we'll do is actually put a coat of epoxy over it to protect it from being scratched." As with enamel, the epoxy is set using a blowtorch.

In closing Mario joked, "Can you believe that we went through all of that to have one pin made." Definitely gives you an appreciation for the craft involved. You can e-mail Mario at www.pinusa.com.

After Mario, Becky then played a pin game asking questions referring to the presentation - with pins as the prizes. Becky also noted that the pin trading guidelines in French, Japanese and Spanish are being released to the pin trading locations. Another piece of news, "It could be as soon as next Sunday the first, but, we are going to be introducing a new pin trader role. Our Super Traders, as we know it, whom we love and love to annoy out there and love to pester with our questions, are actually going to be changing their role a little bit." She noted.

"Our pin talks are only going to be held twice a day, they're going to be at noon and 3:00 and they're going to be geared towards new traders... Because, lets be honest, you guys know more than they do, you always will, because this is what you love and it's silly to go out there and try talk at every time about every little thing they're doing out there." The Super Traders' role will be evolving more towards teaching guests to trade and going over the etiquette.

She added, "We're also developing a Super Trader program at Disney's California Adventure, Downtown Disney, the Hotels and Disneyland...our pin central locations will be the Disney Showcase patio area still, also at DCA there's some tables and umbrellas that just went up outside Treasures of Paradise, we also have a very small pin trading area in World of Disney, a few very small tables provided for our pin traders. These will be the locations for our Super Traders." The Super Traders may be those who have been doing the job and some may be new to the expanded role, "there may be some new faces and some you already know."

"Our Super Traders will be out wandering the parks a lot. So they will not always be at those pin central locations. You're guaranteed to see them at noon and you're guaranteed to see them at 3:00, and those are the two times you're guaranteed to see them at the pin central locations. Other than that they'll be out walking the park actively trading with our guests out there. It's a new game, where's the Super Trader on the park? They really are going to be wandering the entire resort." Just to harass the traders, Becky also wore the yet to be released Chip and Dale 4th of July limited edition pin set on her lapel.
