Opportunity Knocks: Inside Out

J.D. Roth returns to Disney today.  At 8/7 central, ABC will premiere Opportunity Knocks.  Here is what the ABC press release has to say:
In Opportunity Knocks, host and executive producer JD Roth will knock on a family's front door in "Anywhere, America," giving them the opportunity to have a family game night where they can win hundreds of thousands of dollars and amazing prizes that could change their lives. Each week the mobile Opportunity Knocks team literally sets up shop on a family's front lawn, where an audience made up of neighbors and friends will be cheering them on.
Now some of you might not remember Disney: Inside Out, but this little gem of a show aired on The Disney Channel in 1995 and featured J.D. Roth, Brianne Leary, and George Foreman (yes George Foreman) exploring Walt Disney World and Disneyland.  Well I have an idea on how to connect these two Disney productions.  J.D. Roth should visit the Foreman residence and ask George questions about George Jr., George II, George III, George IV, George V, George VI, and of course Georgetta.  I just hope they don't dumb down the questions like most celebrity editions of game shows do.  For example, I would disappointed if they asked him to name his sons.

Quick Takes:

Parks and Resorts: On March 1, 2009, the Magical Fireworks Voyage will be available to all guests.  This experience used to be reserved for Grand Gatherings guests will now be available to all.  This is great for people like me that do not have seven friends and have not been able to experience this offering.
Studio Entertainment: Tickets to High School Musical 3: Senior Year will be available at 12 p.m. PT on September 26 at www.disney.com/HSM3.  If you buy your tickets before October 23, you also get a free iTunes download of "Can I Have This Dance".  I wonder what I get with my Beverly Hills Chihuahua tickets.

Consumer Products: The release date of Hannah Montana: The Movie has been moved up from May 1 to April 10.  I hope all of the toys, clothing, and other consumer products will be available in time.  I know the only reason I go to Wal-Mart (The Hannah Montana Headquarters) is to get all my Hannah Montana products.

Disney Interactive Media:  Square Enix announced they are releasing KINGDOM HEARTS Re: Chain of Memories on December 2nd for PlayStation 2.  This special edition of the Game Boy Advance game will have new features that will still not make me enjoy the game.  I love KINGDOM HEARTS, but Chain of Memories is the Superman IV of KINGDOM HEARTS games.

What to Watch: At 9/8 central, ABC will air David Blaine: Dive of Death, where he will try to hang from a thin wire five stories in the air for three days and three nights.  So basically what I am saying is to watch anything but ABC tomorrow.

Video of the Day: Here is a scene from Bolt.  For the first time, I am actually excited to see this film.  Hope it lives up.

News from Around the Web:

ABC News:  ABC News reports on Dancing with the Stars.  Apparently a lot of couples got low scores.  I think we are missing the true story here.  With Ted McGinley on the show, Dancing with the Star's days are numbered.

NY Times: This isn't Disney related, but it is still interesting.  I know everyone wants to learn more about obituaries.  Well the New York Times has a Q&A with obit writer, Bruce Weber.

USA Today: USA Today reports on how Ugly Betty has moved filming to New York City thanks to some tax credits.  What I found most interesting is that NYC has an area named after a Disney movie.  DUMBO is the neighborhood Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.  Who knoew?

LA Times: ABC had a great start to the new television season on Monday.  Dancing with the Stars was Monday's most-watched program….despite Ted McGinley

Orlando Sentinel: Matt Palm from the Orlando Sentinel offers his thoughts on the closing of Pleasure Island.  I really couldn't care less about PI at this point, but I do want to thank Matt for the final post as I do believe as Disney fans we forget about the cast every once in a while: "It will be crowded and emotional, so be careful and safe. And, it goes without saying, be nice to the staff, who face big change in their lives."

Variety: Variety has a review of Opportunity Knocks and brings up the obvious problem with the show.  Do you really want to watch a game show if you can't play along?
