“Beauty and the Beast” with a Meat Loaf Soundtrack Just Makes Sense

A funny thing happened earlier today after we posted the latest Disney “As Told By Emoji” video featuring Beauty and the Beast: we got a tweet from Jeff Yorkes that read, “And here’s Beauty and the Beast as told by Meatloaf” with a link to Vimeo. Like anyone raised on 90s music would be, I was instantly intrigued and was delighted to find that Yorkes had mashed up clips of Disney’s Beauty and Beast and scored them Meat Loaf’s iconic 1993 hit “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).”

Let me tell you now that this is not some half-hearted effort — this is full on awesome. Experience it first and we’ll talk later:

While the Meat Loaf selection may seem random, it’s actually not that far of a stretch. In fact, the music video for the song was actually inspired by the tale (although perhaps not the animated telling of it) as well as Phantom of the Opera. Plus neither Beast nor Mr. Loaf could really be considered a petite man, so there’s that.

So what did you think of this rockin’ mash up? You comment below — I’ll be over hear blasting “Bat Out of Hell” for the rest of the day.
