Review: Happy Haul-O-Ween From Cars Land

If you’re looking to celebrate the spooky season with Mater, Luigi and all your favorite Cars pals but can’t make it to Cars Land in Disney California Adventure, Disney just released the perfect album for you. Happy Haul-O-Ween From Cars Land: Spooky Songs From Mater and Luigi features all your favorite Halloween tunes from Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.

The songs come from the voices of the two beloved characters themselves, Larry the Cable Guy and Tony Shalhoub, leaving listeners with no disconnect from Pixar’s animated hit films. The tracklist for the new album includes:

  • Graveyard Jambooree
  • Master Haul-O-Ween Square Dance
  • Witchy Miss Lizzy Rock
  • Purple People Eater (Purple Fender Bender)
  • Welcome to Radiator Screams
  • Monster Mash (Monster Truck Smash)
  • Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween
  • Luigi the Hero
  • Mambo Italiano (Haul-O-Ween Italiano)
  • Chop Top of Carsoli
  • Terror-Antella

Full disclosure, I personally have never had the privilege of celebrating Haul-O-Ween in Cars Land. Given that sad fact, this was the first time I had heard any of these songs. In my opinion, without a memory of riding these attractions attached to the music, this soundtrack is not exactly my favorite.

I will say I found the Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween song to be pretty fun, but maybe only once. They’re not exactly song I’ll be playing on repeat. I’m personally not a big fan of Larry the Cable Guy, so one listen to the Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree songs was more than enough.

Check out a POV ride through on Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, featuring the song “Terror-Antella,” in the video below.

Again, I have never experienced these attractions so I had nothing to attach these songs to. I would imagine for someone who has experienced Haul-O-Ween, these songs would likely hold a special meaning and remind them of the great time they had. That would make them so much more enjoyable. Of course, this soundtrack will also be fun for children (or just the young at heart) who love the Cars films or the two Haul-O-Ween attractions.

However, if you’re like me and you’re just listening to these songs without any emotional attachment, you probably won’t fall in love with this soundtrack.

Happy Haul-O-Ween From Cars Land: Spooky Songs From Mater and Luigi is available now on Amazon, iTunes, and Spotify. Additionally, if you’re looking to skip to the winter holidays, you can also check out the Season’s Speedings from Cars Land album released last December.
