3D Printed Star Wars Mouse Droid Interacts with Strangers

Technology is amazing. Star Wars is amazing. 3D printing is amazing. Put them all together, and you get a “fully operational” Mouse Droid. Star Wars fan and YouTuber, Ali of Potent Printables has created a working model of the classic little robot first seen in Star Wars: A New Hope. This video shows Ali taking the droid out in public for the first time and the reactions and engagement from strangers. While Ali’s droid might not be able to do all the same things the droids to in the Star Wars franchise (like making repairs on the Death Star), this little machine can interact with humans and tell jokes. Take a look:

If you’re into 3D printing or just want to learn more about this particular Mouse Droid, check out Potent Printables’ 3-part YouTube series on creating this working model. You can watch the first video here.

More Star Wars fun:

  • Last week, the brand-new animated series, Star Wars: Resistance debuted on Disney Channel. Check out Mike’s review of the show.
  • Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is a new land that’s coming to Disneyland and Hollywood Studios in 2019. Both versions will put guests right in the middle of a galaxy far, far away with amazing attractions, iconic characters, and even an alien Cantina.
