Walt Disney World Weather Report for April 5 from @WDW_Weather

When you hear a weather guy talk about a cold front coming – usually that means two things.  When you live in Florida it means, “whew, we are going to cool this inferno off a bit” – but when you are visiting Florida it generally means “uh oh – today might not be such a magical day at the parks!”  Bingo, you would both be right!

That said, there are still two ways to look at it.  If you are visiting and can deal with a less than Photopass perfect day you will likely find it a little less crowded on rainy days, but the real good news is that once the front passes it’s going to be gorgeous!

For those of you who were here for the severe weather last week, I’m not expecting anything like that today.  However, as the front approaches (and it’s MOVING by the way) you can expect some storms to impact the area.  There will be a small window where an isolated tornado is not out of the question, but again severe impacts should not be widespread.   So if you are flying in TODAY and reading this from an airport – good luck because I’d expect a few arrival delays, which may ping pong into the afternoon.

The good news is that I’d also expect most of the precipitation to end by the time the late Fantasmic starts tonight at 10pm (can you tell I love this show).  Due to the nature of the show however, Fantasmic WILL be cancelled in high winds and winds tonight could gust to about 25 behind the front so you may want to call guest relations ahead of time (not to mention keep the rain gear handy because of the water effects on windy nights).

Behind the front some cooler air will filter in and for the locals this might be the LAST time you will want to keep your windows open for some fresh air … if history holds any truth … the “summer furnace” is about to be switched on any minute through … let’s say October.

So in a nutshell – there’s a real good chance for showers and possibly thunderstorms through the afternoon with clearing and windy conditions tonight. The rest of the week looks gorgeous with sunny skies through Saturday.  Water parks – plan for the weekend because while temperatures will struggle to get out of the 70s tomorrow it’s going to get HOT by Saturday as temperatures go above average and we once again flirt with the 90s.
