Disney Trying to Block Bill That Would Give Florida Schools More Start Date Flexibility

WPTV.com writes about a bill in the Florida legislature that would give school districts more flexibility over when they start and finish the school year. Currently, most schools can’t start the year more than two weeks before Labor Day. But Walt Disney World, and others in the hotel and lodging industry, are opposed to the bill because of the impact it would have on Florida vacationers and on local theme parks’ ability to hire Florida high schoolers.
