Reports indicate that Disney is working on a live-action prequel to its 1992 animated classic Aladdin. The film entitled Genies is being wirtten by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift who wrote the 2009 reboot of Friday the 13th.
The film is described as being about a world of genies and how Aladdin’s genie ended up being trapped in the lamp. The project is also thought of eventually leading into a live-action Aladdin film.
There is no word on who will direct the film nor any release date.
