Disney Begins Planning Another Five Star Wars Features

When Disney purchased Lucasfilm, it was a foregone conclusion that it would be a long time before we saw the last Star Wars film (again). Now UK publication The Sun is reporting that the company is setting its sights on developing the next five films that will debut beyond 2020. Some of the ideas apparently being tossed around are films focusing on characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu.

At this time, it seems the formal Star Wars saga will still conclude with Episode IX. However, Disney is banking on creating “spin-off” films that will kick off with the release of Rogue One this December. Films focusing on bounty hunter Boba Fett and a young Han Solo are supposedly being developed as well, filling the Star Wars slate for the next few years.
