BAMTech Invests in Silver Chalice Ventures, College Sports Streaming

Recently Disney announced their $1 billion investment in Major League Baseballs BAMTech. Now Bloomberg reports that BAMTech has in turn made an investment in Silver Chalice Ventures, a streaming service that focuses on college sports. Silver Chalice Ventures’ CEO Brooks Boyer said in a statement, “Having BAMTech as both an equity and technology partner creates innumerable new opportunities to explore and leverage rights in the ever-changing media landscape.”

According to Bloomberg the deal will give BAMTech distributing rights to the ACC Digital Network, Campus Insiders and over 3,000 live college events. Additionally the companies will work together to seek out more college sports content.

Disney purchased a one-third share of BAMTech in a move that was seen as carving out a future for ESPN post cord-cutting. BAMTech also provides infrastructure for other streaming services include the WWE Network and The Blaze.
