Swan Hotel’s Employee Cafeteria Closed Due to Roaches

Following a recent visit from a health inspector, the employee cafeteria at the Swan hotel in Walt Disney World was forced to temporarily shut down. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the inspector noticed both dead roaches as well as “14 live roaches crawling on the kick plate near hot boxes” when he completed his report on October 12th. The violations were taken care of the and cafeteria reopened the next day.

A spokesperson for the hotel told the Sentinel, “The hotel does have an otherwise good record and was reinspected and approved to reopen the next day.” Other eateries in the hotel also passed recent inspections without major issue.

While it resides in Walt Disney World, the Swan and its neighboring Dolphin hotel are not owned by Disney. Instead they are managed by Starwood Hotels.
