Disney Now will Combine Disney Watch Apps Into One

For those, like me, who are frustrated that they have to go to several Disney apps to catch all of their Disney content, it appears that Disney is working on a fix. As part of Disney’s Kids Upfront presentations to advertisers, Disney is seeking a way to improve the user experience for non-linear viewing.

According to Variety,  “Disney Now,” launching later this year, will place all content from Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD and Radio Disney, each currently housed in separate apps, under a single unified app, making a wider array of content available to users.

It is unknown if this is a stepping stone to a subscription based direct-to-consumer service like DisneyLife service where viewers can subscribe to a slate of on-demand content. Disney has made improving the streaming experience a priority as seen through their investment in BAMTech.

Among the shows being highlighted for Disney’s kid networks include the upcoming DuckTales reboot and Muppet Babies.
