John Musker Retires After 40 Years with Disney

Longtime director and writer John Musker said his goodbyes to Disney Animation Studios on Sunday, March 18th after 40 years of working for the company. Musker started his journey with Disney back in 1977, bringing memorable stories to life that have stayed with audiences for years. Along with creative partner Ron Clements, he co-directed and co-wrote several Disney classics including, The Great Mouse Detective, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, Treasure Planet, The Princess and the Frog, and Moana.

According to Cartoon Brew, there was an impressive turnout at his retirement party where fellow Cast Members shared their appreciation for the man and his work. Among the shared pictures were Instagram photos showing caricatures designed in his honor:
