We disembarked at the ToonTown Station and hurried back to Mickey’s house. Once again, Jamal was able to slip us in through the back way, and in no time at all we were greeting bandleader Mickey in his dressing room. He was very pleased that we were returning his book, and wanted to hear all about our adventures. After taking several pictures, it was time to say goodbye to our new friend Jamal. He told us to be sure and stop by City Hall for a final surprise: personally inscribed photos from our old pal Mickey.

It hardly seemed possible that so much activity had been packed into only three hours. Both Dave and I agreed that the “Discover the Magic? tour was a lot of fun. In fact, the only thing that could have made it better would be experiencing the whole thing with our friends from LaughingPlace.

And, as it so happened, Dave did take the Discover the Magic tour a few days later with a LaughingPlace crew. He noted that the tour was just as much fun the second time around, especially with a group of actual children. The kids also got a different gift—a pin to commemorate their day of discovery.
