Although Disney’s hotly anticipated film Mary Poppins Returns won’t hit theatres until December 19th, the original soundtrack for the sequel was released today. And while your excitement might tempt you to boot Spotify and have a listen right now, as Alex warns in his review, you may encounter a few spoilers in that plan.
This dilemma has not gone unnoticed by one of the film’s stars (not to mention, recent Hollywood Walk of Fame star recipient) Lin-Manuel Miranda, who took to Twitter this morning to advise fans:
The Mary Poppins Returns Soundtrack is out. If you like spoilers, have at it. If you want to wait til you see the movie, you should do that. Your mileage will vary and I love you no matter what.

Incidentally, Miranda previously took a similar stance when two of the songs from the film debuted last month:
I recommend waiting to see the movie but you do you 😊 https://t.co/USFgUe1NM7

So, now that you know what you’re up against — and that Lin-Manuel will love you no matter what — will you be indulging in the Mary Poppins Returns soundtrack now or after you see the film? Regardless of your decision, you can see what spoiler-free comments critics have shared about the film so far. Oh, and of course you can catch Mary Poppins Returns in theatres December 19th.
