Toontown Firetruck Missing Upon Disneyland’s Reopening

Aside from a very obvious new building on the skyline of Toontown (despite the best attempts to hide it), some more minor changes were noticed today, including the removal of a fan-favorite photo op.

What’s Happening:

  • One of the more popular touchpoints and photo opportunities in Mickey’s Toontown has been removed. The popular Toontown fire truck, located in front of the Toontown fire department and near the Fireworks Factory was not present on our visit to Disneyland today, the first time the park has been open to the public in over a year.
  • Other touching activities in Mickey’s Toontown are still available with plenty of hand sanitizing stations nearby. However, many of them aren’t necessarily removed as they are walled off for the construction of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, coming to the land in 2023. We noticed a lot of the crates near the Toontown Pound and camera shop are available for interaction, but the popular power factory door (that would “shock” anybody who tries to open it) was walled off.

  • In place of the fire truck, plenty of new tables and seating have been arranged for guests to take a moment and relax, perhaps after a dizzying spin on nearby Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, or just from the heat of walking to this corner of the park.
  • All of these were noticed (and more) while live streaming our walk through the park today, which you can watch a replay of below!
