Collider has reported that Disney is in the works on a new Tower of Terror movie, and that Scarlett Johansson will be producing and starring in the new film.

- Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4, Inside Out) is writing the script and Johansson will produce through her company These Pictures with Jonathan Lia.
- Back in December, filmmaker John August shared a look at some artwork done for a movie based on the Tower of Terror out at Disneyland in 2015. Although the screenplay was never written, you can see artwork that he created as a pitch for the film.
- Back in 1997, a television movie was made starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst, giving audiences a backstory to the attraction and filming a few shots at the Tower of Terror itself.
