Disney has announced they are opening a version of How To Be a Millionaire on Soundstages 2 and 3 in Spring 2001. It will be a 25-30 minute show with an audience of 600 and a host. Contestants are chosen from the audience using a "Fastest Finger" contest similar to that on the television show. Once a contestant is chosen, the remaining audience members will play along from their seats. If the contestant finishes playing (by going all the way, missing a question or stopping), whoever is leading in the audience will become the next contestant. Just like the game show contestants can use the 50-50, Ask the Audience or "phone a stranger" which will either be someone in the Backstage Pass corridor or the queue for the next show. Instead of playing for money contestants will play for points that can be redeemed for prizes. (Click here for a press release on the attraction)
