The Disneyland Resort kicked off their annual holiday celebration on Friday, November 10th at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Among the returning classics are it’s a small world holiday, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, the Christmas Fantasy Parade and Believe… in Holiday Magic fireworks at Disneyland, as well as World of Color—Season of Light, Festival of Holidays, visits with Santa Claus and Viva Navidad! at Disney California Adventure. New for this year are two holiday-themed overlays at Cars Land: Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl.
New for the season is the Esplanade Stage at Disney California Adventure. Located in Paradise Park, the stage showcases performances by the Mariachi Divas, Mostly Kosher, The Sound, and Blue13 Dance Company, as well as sunset concerts with Phat Cat Swinger. The Holiday Toy Drummers have returned for another year, along with Princess Elena’s Musical Grand Arrival.
Grand Californian Hotel Revealed After 12 Month Makeover
Sixteen years after its opening, the Grand Californian Hotel has undergone its first comprehensive makeover. In the lobby and public areas new furniture has been brought in, fittings and fixtures have been updated, and even the custom made carpet has been replaced. Guest rooms were taken down to the bare walls to ensure that guests will experience a completely renewed decorating scheme. The Arts and Crafts style has been respected, but the rooms have been updated both in terms of appearance and amenities. The last element that will be completed is the Concierge Lounge on the sixth floor.
