Photos: The Fun and Food of Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando Resort

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the park's springtime festival.

Mardi Gras has begun at Universal Orlando, celebrating its 30th year at the park.

The event takes place now through March 31st, with a nightly parade, daily food festival, and concerts every Saturday from today’s biggest stars.

Throughout the day, guests can meet and greet with the parade performers who light up the streets as the sun goes down. Maybe they’ll even share a few beads before the processional later in the evening.

Guests will find Mardi Gras decorations across the park, celebrating the New Orleans festival with purples, greens, and golds visible all over.

Of course, a big part of the festival is the FOOD. Various booths can be found across Universal Studios with flavors from across the world, including quintessential New Orleans treats like gumbo and beignets. However, be sure to prepare to wait, as lines can get extra lengthy.

During opening day, a media preview was held to take a peek at all some of the delicious offerings that can be found around the park.
