Disney's Jay Rasulo, Dick Cook and Marty Sklar to Speak at the NFFC's 20th Anniversary Convention July 21 - 25, 2004
Disney Fans Are Invited to Attend; Registration Is Open

Celebrating its 20th year the NFFC is pleased to announce their upcoming 2004 Convention will include presentations by: 

  • Jay Rasulo, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, and Michael Mendenhall, Executive Vice President, Global Marketing Support for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, will share the plans for the Global Celebration of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary.
     
  • Dick Cook, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, will discuss the upcoming Live-action and Animated features to be released by the Studio in the near future. Following his presentation, guests will then be treated to a sneak peek screening of Princess Diaries 2: A Royal Engagement at the AMC Downtown Disney along with complimentary soda and popcorn.
     
  • Marty Sklar, Chairman and Principal Creative Executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, will present The Wizards of WED – Legends of Imagineering.
     
  • Randy Thornton, Walt Disney Records will discuss his recent audio projects including the re-mastered Mary Poppins soundtrack and a six cd set currently under development for Disneyland's 50th.

The Convention will also feature seminars on a variety of Disney-related topics including the upcoming Buena Vista Games releases, as well as an Author's panel featuring Bruce Gordon (Ellenshaw Under Glass), Peggy Van Pelt (Designing Disney), Kendra Trahan (Disneyland Detective) and Margaret Kerry (Tinkerbell Talks) and an artist's panel moderated by sculptress Terri Hardin and featuring Bryan Jowers, Matt McKim, Tony West, Philo Barnhardt.

As a highlight of the Convention, the NFFC will honor the Senior Vice President of Creative Development, Walt Disney Imagineering and long-time friend of the NFFC, Tony Baxter by naming him the 2004 NFFC Disney Legend during the Luncheon with a Disney Legend. Over the past 20 years, this convention highlight has celebrated nearly 75 individuals who have created the Disney magic and the Club is proud to say that as NFFC Disney Legends and honorary members they return year after year to participate in various club events and meet with Disney enthusiasts as they support the NFFC's mission to keep the magic alive. 

During this week of Disneyana events the NFFC will also offer a 3-hour scrapbooking workshop on the evening of Saturday, July 24, 2004, from 7PM to about 10PM and on Sunday, July 25th from Noon - 5p, they will host the World's Largest Strictly Disneyana Show and Sale. The show features nearly 200 tables and more than 150 dealers from across the country and around the world offering tens-of-thousands of new and vintage items.
