Social Media Photos Show Aftermath of Typhoon Faxai at Tokyo Disney Resort

Residents of Tokyo, Japan were recently hit with damaging weather from Typhoon Faxai. Not only was the city affected, but parts of Tokyo Disney Resort experienced some damage from the tropical storm.

What’s happening:

  • Just yesterday Typhoon Faxai made landfall in Tokyo leaving millions without power on Monday morning.
  • Along with the metropolitan area, the Tokyo Disney Resort was also affected by the massive storm.
  • Guests visiting the resort shared pictures of the damage at the parks. Thankfully, it appears that the majority of the damage to the Resort was limited to broken branches, downed trees, and crushed lamp posts.
  • The Guardian writes, “some department stores and amusement parks, including Tokyo Disneyland, closed earlier than scheduled due to the approaching storm.”

  • Tokyo Disney Resort updated their operating times, closing both parks an hour early for Sunday due to the typhoon.
  • Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea operating hours will be changed as follows:
