As we get closer to the beginning of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort as well as the first Oogie Boogie Bash of the season early next month, seasonal decor is popping up, including the iconic Oogie Boogie and Moon over the entrance of Disney California Adventure which happens to look a bit different this year.

What’s Happening:

  • Halloween Time is getting ready to begin at the Disneyland Resort, kicking off on September 3rd and running through Halloween, complete with attraction overlays, Oogie Boogie Bash, and seasonal decorations.
  • One of the more iconic decorations (of the latter day) is the giant Oogie Boogie that appears on the entrance to Disney California Adventure with bats pouring out of his arms.
  • This year, Oogie looks a bit different, though the spirit is the same. In previous years, Oogie appears in front of the outline of a tree, with his arms (and bats) outstretched with roots of the tree running along the entrance roof.
  • This year, the spirit is the same, with Oogie Boogie in front of the moon, with the bats coming out behind his stretched arms.
  • Also new this year….color! Oogie has bright green highlights and also comes complete with jack-o-lantern that glows orange.
  • Gone, for now, is the tree and the root system running along the roof of the park’s entrance, though Halloween Time is still a few weeks away, so we’ll see if there are any last minute adjustments.
