Walt Disney Records Brings "La Dolce Vita'' to Families with
"The Lizzie
McGuire Movie Soundtrack''
Featuring New Single "Why
Not" by "Lizzie McGuire" Star Hilary Duff
On April 22, 2003, Walt
Disney Records will release the soundtrack for "The Lizzie McGuire Movie." The
soundtrack features the hot new single "Why Not" performed by "Lizzie McGuire"
star and teen sensation Hilary Duff.
The movie soundtrack marks
15-year-old Duff's third musical venture. Dubbed "The Tween Queen" by Vanity
Fair, Hilary Duff made her singing debut with "I Can't Wait," featured on Walt
Disney Records' recently gold-certified "Lizzie McGuire Soundtrack" inspired by
the television series. Duff's holiday-themed CD, "Santa Claus Lane," was
released in November and featured a duet with Lil' Romeo.
Disney's "The
Lizzie McGuire Movie" serves up a new round of comic foibles for the lovable
Lizzie McGuire and her pals Gordo, Kate and Ethan, who all pack their bags and
plan to live la dolce vita while on a class trip to Italy. Once there, Lizzie is
mistaken for Isabella (who is part of an Italian pop duo) and begins to fall for
Paolo (Isabella's handsome Italian pop star former boyfriend). When Lizzie's
mom, dad and annoying brother Matt get wind of this, they all jet their way to
the boot country. In the meantime, Lizzie is transformed from a gawky teen to a
beautiful pop star, Gordo struggles to understand his true feelings for her and
a whirlwind of surprising events force Lizzie to find the true meaning of
friendship. "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" will be released to theaters on May
2.
"The Lizzie McGuire Movie Soundtrack" also includes songs from the
movie like Atomic Kitten's version of "The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)," "All
Around The World" by Cooler Kids, "What Dreams Are Made Of (Ballad Version)"
performed by the movie's Italian pop duo of Paolo and Isabella, "Shining Star"
by Jump 5, "Open Your Eyes (To Love)" by LMNT, "You Make Me Feel Like A Star
(Lizzie Mix)" by The Beu Sisters, "Supermodel" by Taylor Dayne, "What Dreams Are
Made Of" by none other than Lizzie McGuire herself, "On An Evening In Roma" by
the legendary Dean Martin, the instrumental score "Orchestral Suite from 'The
Lizzie McGuire Movie'" and "Why Not (McMix)." Vitamin C's fresh new take on
"Volare" and Haylie Duff's "Girl In The Band" round out the line-up on this
upbeat soundtrack.
"The Lizzie McGuire Movie Soundtrack" starts flying
off shelves on April 22, 2003 for a suggested CD retail price of $18.98. All
