Veteran's Day 2001
Each day as the sun begins to set Disneyland honors America with the Flag Retreat Ceremony
during which the flag is ceremonially lowered and folded for the evening.
On Veterans Day 2001, two months after September
11th, they held a special flag retreat ceremony. Cast Members who were also Veterans of
the Armed Forces were invited to participate. Also on hand were the United States Army
Southern California Recruiting Battalion and Grand Marshals from the Anaheim Veterans of
Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post. The Disneyland Band provided the music as the
American and Californian flags were lowered and and folded.
