Thompson asked the panel how they each got the job. Kerry Katz said "it was pretty simple. I just made a call." He explained that the voices were pulled from the voices he used in reading books to his kids as well as some he "stole" from other places.
Randy Crenshaw said he heard about the auditions from Bobbi Page. They were looking for lesser character singers.
Glenn Shadix said he was was at a pool party at Tim Burton's. Tim yelled out to Glenn, "you want to be the mayor in my Nightmare film." He said "sure" and that was it.
Catherine O'Hara next talked about the process of creating Nightmare. It was recorded in such small pieces that she never really had a full sense of the character until she sang her song.
