FerryTale Wishes — A Fireworks Dessert Cruise

IMG_3901On October 5th, the inaugural FerryTale Wishes Cruise set sail. Checking in at the Ticket and Transportation Center (no park ticket needed), we were welcomed by balloons, our own blinking cup filled with sparkling cider, and blinking necklace.IMG_3903 IMG_3905 IMG_3906We were also given our program for the night that included what we would be enjoying during the cruise and a little about the General Joe Potter ship we would be sailing on.IMG_3908 IMG_3916Once onboard, the fun really starts. With commemorative plate in hand, you have 45 minutes to enjoy all the desserts and drinks you can handle.IMG_3921IMG_3926 IMG_3920 IMG_3924 IMG_3925Besides the choice of coke products, they also offer Bud Light, a variety of wines, and a strawberry lemonade (with or without vodka) along with water and coffee.IMG_3928 IMG_3929As the ferry heads out of dock, it takes a leisurely cruise around the Seven Seas Lagoon to its dock at the Magic Kingdom. While docked, we are afforded an excellent view of the long-running Electrical Water Pageant from the stern of the boat.IMG_5932Once the pageant passes we head back out, all the while our captain provides us with a history of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the hotel located along its shores.IMG_3936IMG_3949Now for those of you with little ones, a 45-minute cruise might seem like a long time. Luckily, the folks at WDW came up with a great way to pass the time in the form of a blacklight scavenger hunt.IMG_3947Just ask any of the crew and they will give you a playing card and a blacklight flashlight to find all the Hidden Mickeys. Now I won’t give away the answer, but I am guessing most of you reading already know it pretty well!IMG_3945As the time approaches for Wishes, the ferry stops in the middle of the lagoon with one side facing the Magic Kingdom, offering by far one of the best views of Wishes I have ever had.IMG_5957 IMG_5944 IMG_5940

The overall cruise is very nice and they did go all out for it, even so far as to have trash cans made up, the price tag of $99.00 per adult and $69.00 per child is a bit high for my taste.IMG_3917 IMG_3930 IMG_3943 The desserts are all very tasty and the option of all-you-can-drink alcohol alone is a selling point. I have done some of the other speciality cruises and this one is more of a large group or family gathering event. IMG_3976For more information or to book a cruise head to Specialty Cruises page.
