Disney’s Hollywood Studios Update — Moana, Muppets, and Star Wars!

img_7840 December is here and that means we take a look at what is new and ever changing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.img_7841 No place on Walt Disney World property makes me feel more at home, as a California boy, during the holidays as Hollywood Blvd. With it’s over the top uses of garland and classic Christmas music, it reminds me of every mall in Southern California.img_8286A rare view of the Chinese Theater as the stage for ‘Star Wars – A Galaxy Far, Far Away’ is removed temporarily for minor work. Speaking of Star Wars and changes coming to Disney’s Hollywood studios you can read all about what is happening in the not too distant future here and see all the changes that have already come to Star Wars Launch Bay in the form of the new Rogue One A Star Wars Story display here.img_8285Star Wars is not the only feature film addition to come to the park — Moana has moved into a new meet and greet area of Walt Disney One Man’s Dream exhibit.img_7845 img_7847 img_7849Heading to the other side of the park, work is of course being done on the little Star Wars expansion as can be seen through the trees near Star Tours and Muppet*Vision 3D.img_7853

img_7876The biggest news since our last update is the opening of PizzeRizzo.img_7855img_7858

As you can see, it is hard to believe this used to be Pizza Planet. Unfortunately, some things never change: the food. The pizza is still greasy, the antipasto salad had one piece of ham and one salami, and the other options are not much of an improvement over what was there before — well, except they added a cannoli!img_7866 img_7867 img_7868Overall, PizzeRizzo is a great new dining location with pretty much standard quick service food, but some of fun theming and lots of seats.IMG_7882 img_7863 img_7862 img_7861That’s a wrap on this update, look for more from Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland coming in the next few weeks.
