Photos: New Bag Check and Tram Drop Off Open Now At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the first of the Walt Disney World Parks to receive the updated tram and bag check locations. Over the past almost 18 years, other than the addition of metal detectors, the bag check locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has essentially been temporary tents. That was until this past week when the first phase opened along with the new parking lot tram drop off area. The new area provides more space for bag check tables and metal detectors, which should speed along the process and cut down on lines.

The location of the previous bag check is under construction to open the area up as well as create a more bag check spots for guests arriving via Walt Disney World transportation.

A new exit gate has been erected as part of the new bag check structure providing more space to allow guests to exit after those busy nights after Fantasmic.

The previous walkway has been separated so guests outside the bag check area near the new tram loading have access to the restrooms and only guests that have gone through the checkpoint can visit the Guest Relations window.

The location of the former Resort Bus loop has now become the parking lot tram load/unload.

Very similar to the Disneyland tram stops, the unload is on the side with no railing while the loading on the other side has rails to serve as queues for each row.

The new load area provides lots of space for guests but, strangely enough, there is no shade or covering of any type, which given the sun and rain of the Sunshine State could provide a nice relief after a long day in the parks. But nonetheless this new area provides a beautiful new welcome to what will be the most visited park East of the Mississippi in just a few months.
