A First Timer’s Guide To Gaylord Palms’ “Spring It On” Event

Over my 8 years living in Central Florida I have visited many of the hotels and resorts, but the one I had never even set foot in prior to this year was Gaylord Palms Resort and now I see the error in my ways.

Located just minutes from Walt Disney World property this stunning resort has everything you need for a relaxing getaway or a family vacation that may not need to include the theme parks every day. For those of you who are not familiar with Gaylord Palms Resort it is a beautifully themed resort to include some of the highlights of Florida all under one atrium roof, including the Everglades, St Augustine, and Key West as well a great waterpark.

When I was invited to spend a few nights I was excited to get a little escape from the current world and I have to say stepping into the main atrium you forget where you are very quickly. With winding paths to explore, live animals to watch, and great places to eat I can honestly say before I even step foot in my room I feel in love with Gaylord Palms.

I was in one of the St. Augustine guest rooms overlooking the atrium, which I have to say waking up to this view made it hard to go back to the regular world after. Beyond the view the thing I couldn’t stop raving about was how comfortable the bed was, the entire room was very nice but the bed is something I will be looking forward to on many future stays.

Enough about the bed, one of the main reasons for my stay was to experience the “Spring It On” event that coincided nicely with the first day of Spring while I was there. Gaylord Palms Resort is known for its great Christmas events but I have to say for a “lesser” event there was more than enough to do for a day or two there.

While some of the activities are only on certain days, events like the Blossomin’ Bunnies Scavenger Hunt and the Eggspression Garden make for a great midday break from the parks or a nice evening time to stroll and explore.

But I do have to say out of all the activities, by far my favourite was the “Paint Me A Fairytale” Interactive Show. This show returns to the heart of storytelling with Mother Goose and her Pages retelling as well as adding their own special twist to some of the classic fairy tales that seem to have fallen by the wayside over the years. Combining live acting, singing, and some fun puppeting work this show was a lot of fun plus with safety in mind the cast and crew took great care in making sure we were all socially distant as well as having a great time.

For more information and how to book your stay at this beautiful resort click GaylordPalms, but hurry the Spring It On event only runs through May 16, 2021.
