Special deliveries abound in the latest StuGo on Disney Channel, as Francis leads the team to deliver a piece of mail somewhere on the island after Sara and Chip deliver robot justice on the Moon. Yes, THE moon.
Moon Moon
Dr. Lullah and Mr. Okay storm into the abandoned boat the kids stay in in the wee hours of the night, bombarding them with a blaring air horn and flashing lights. They take them all from their startled slumber and immediately throw them into a centrifuge and start firing basketballs at them to see how they cope – mind you, they’re still half asleep.
Finally, the group is whittled down to Sara and Chip who are then told why they had to go through this whole exercise. Lullah has painted her face on the moon, but NASA has erased it, so she sent a robot up to the moon to paint the whole thing black so that nobody can see it in the night sky anymore, but the bot has gone rogue and is now painting a butt on it, so the moon will be mooning earth. So, someone needs to go to the moon and reset the bot.
Chip may be the perfect candidate for this, as he has dealt with everything so far, and he is a bot lover. He knows everything about robots and how they work and pitches the smart idea to lure the robot into a ditch where the incline will be too steep for it to get out of, then he will go down in and power down the unit.
It seems like the perfect idea until Sara says that this is not the job for someone who loves robots. They can’t be trusted to get the job done when it needs to be. This argument seals the deal, and Sara is the one who will be going to the moon. Nearly instantaneously, she is blasted off to space and lands on the moon to get the job done. Once there, she meets the robot, called simply Van, and discovers that it is meant for more than just painting the moon black. That’s why it revolted and started drawing the butt instead, so that Lullah would always have to look up and see it. Van introduces Sarah to more of its art, and Sara is quickly becoming infatuated with the bot and all of its potential.
Meanwhile, Ground Boy Chip is watching while Lullah and Okay are getting frustrated by how long this process is taking. Sara only has to hit the reset button and she refuses.
Now, Chip is sent up to the moon to finish the job. Sara fights him, trying to save Van, and falls into Chip’s trap – the exact one he pitched for the bot that sees her put into a pit that she can’t get out of. Chip is ready to take out Van and shut down the bot when Sara asks for one last moment with her new friend.
In a cold move, Sara puts her fist through Van’s screen (after asking if it trusts her), and removes a microchip before she and Chip head back to Earth.
Once returned, Sara installs the microchip into Lullah’s coffee maker, which wakes up showing that Van has survived, and can now draw butts on Lullah’s coffee forever.
Mail Bog
In Lullah’s lab, the kids bring her a mail bag that they discover, most of which is destined for a forbidden bog on the island. Turns out, this isn’t the first time that Lullah has encountered one of these mailbags. She gets them fairly regularly and tried to return them by throwing them into the ocean, but more mail keeps on coming, so now she just burns them.
Upset by this failure to uphold the promise of the post, Francis leads a revolution and the kids take a piece of mail to the forbidden bog. Neither rain, nor heat, nor snow, will stop them from upholding their duty.
As the journey begins, all the kids are in attendance as Francis leads the pack…until one of the mutants shows up and tells Pliny that a number of the sea turtles just hatched which causes her to leave, even though just moments ago she was telling everyone how important delivering the mail must be.
This all happens in a sub environment on the island where it is snowing, so it seems that we will be losing one kid to basically everything Francis said that the mail must get through. Geysers and fountains in another part of the island create a rainstorm that causes Larry and Chip to get left behind as the fountains and geysers are far more fun than whatever this mail excursion entails.
Sara starts getting annoyed and wants to know what is in the envelope that is worth this adventure. They don’t know, and they won’t know as Francis refuses to open the mail, adding that it is a federal crime. But who would tell? #1 Snitch Merian would, that’s who.
Eventually, they get to a greenhouse area that is subjecting the kids to the extreme heat, and now it’s Sara’s turn to get left behind as the journey continues.
Finally, Francis and Merian reach some caves where a giant dog is preventing them from getting to the forbidden bog. Of course the mail people get stopped by a dog. Merian, who is allergic, is suffering and asks Francis why this is so important to her. Why? Because Francis got a piece of mail once, and it felt nice.
Merian, who fully gets it, stays behind with the dog and allows Francis to make the delivery. She gets to a mailbox with eyes that accepts the delivery, and in return offers a handful of diamonds. Francis rejects the reward, and the mailbox blasts off into the sky leaving only a piece of mail behind that is addressed to Francis. Upon opening, all that’s inside is a note that says “Thank you.”
Merian and Francis ride the large dog back to the rest of the gang, who are marveling at the sea turtle hatchlings. They weren’t there so they have to know what happened. What happened? Francis delivered the mail.
