Finding Nemo the Musical Songwriters Composing New Tunes for Winnie the Pooh

Tony Award winner Bobby Lopez (creator Avenue Q) and his partner and wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez the songwriting team behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom “Finding Nemo the Musical” will bring seven new songs to the upcoming Winnie the Pooh movie including “A Pooh Bear Takes Care of His Tummy,” “A Very Important Thing To Do,” “Everything Is Honey,” and “The Winner Song.”  Winnie the Pooh’s theme song (written by Sherman Brothers) will be sung by Zooey Deschanel.

“Winnie the Pooh’ will reflect the charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes. Its inspired by five stories from AA Milne’s books in Disney’s hand-drawn art style. Veteran Disney animator/storyman/director Burny Mattinson (who also worked on the 1974 featurette “Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too) serves as senior story artist, with the directing duo of Stephen J. Anderson (director, Meet the Robinsons; story supervisor Brother Bear, Emperor’s New Groove) and Don Hall (Meet the Robinsons, Tarzan, The Princess and The Frog, Brother Bear, Emperor’s New Groove).

“Winnie the Pooh” will bring the voice talents of Craig Ferguson (Owl), Tom Kenny (Rabbit) and Bud Luckey to the 100 Acre Wood when Winnie the Pooh and friends set out on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit.
