Sunday Night Baseball To Promote Million Dollar Arm

ESPN’s 25th season of Major League Baseball continues Sunday, May 11, when the Pittsburgh Pirates and reigning National League MVP Andrew McCutchen host the St. Louis Cardinals and Yadier Molina in the first-ever edition of Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell from PNC Park in Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. The Pirates last hosted Sunday Night Baseball on July 28, 1996 – 18 seasons ago – against the Philadelphia Phillies at Three Rivers Stadium. Sunday Night Baseball’s Dan Shulman, analyst John Kruk and reporter Buster Olney will provide commentary for the exclusive national telecast.

Actor, avid baseball fan and star of Disney’s Million Dollar Arm Jon Hamm will serve as guest analyst onBaseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown presented by Chevrolet alongside host Karl Ravech and analyst and Hall of Famer Barry Larkin live at 7 p.m. from just outside of PNC Park on Federal Street near the Roberto Clemente Bridge.

Based on a true story, Million Dollar Arm follows sports agent JB Bernstein (Hamm) to India where his “Million Dollar Arm” reality show competition helps to discover Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel, both of whom ultimately signed with the Pirates organization. Aasif Mandvi, Bill Paxton, Suraj Sharma, Lake Bell and Alan Arkin also star in the film, which opens in theaters Friday, May 16. Ravech, Larkin, ESPN analyst Curt Schilling, SportsCenter anchor Steve Levy and ESPN MLB Insider Jayson Stark all make cameo appearances in the motion picture.
