During the earnings conference call, Bob Iger said they would consider creating Over-the-Top Networks for some of their brands.
As Bob Iger said, “We think we have that opportunity with a Disney branded service. We may have an opportunity to bring out a Marvel type product and possibly even Star Wars.”
Over-the-Top networks are video services that come through internet instead of the traditional multi-channel bundle.
Disney is trying to be careful to not do anything to harm the multi-channel bundle as that is a major source of revenue for the company, particularly ESPN.
