Walt Disney World Testing Paid Parking at Resort Hotels

According to a recent post on DisneyLists.com, Walt Disney World is testing out charging guests for parking at their resort hotels. Currently, hotel parking is free for everyone visiting for any reason. During the test,  guest who aren’t staying at the resort and don’t have a reservation at one of the hotel restaurants are charged. The test occurred at The Contemporary Resort which is a very common resort for guests to park at and then walk to the Magic Kingdom. This obviously makes it more difficult for actual guests of the hotel to find parking. It also means guests avoid paying the parking fee at the Magic Kingdom.

The benefits of the policy are obvious: Guests would no longer be able to avoid paying for theme park parking and parking would be easier for hotel guests.

The downside is guests who just want to visit a resort (to walk around, shop or eat without a reservation) would not be able to without paying a parking fee.

What do you think? Would this be a good policy change?
