“Jungle Book” Crosses $700 Million Worldwide

Not only did Disney’s latest film, The Jungle Book, celebrate its third weekend atop the North American box office this weekend but it also surpassed $700 million worldwide. This makes The Jungle Book the second Disney film to reach that milestone this year following the blockbuster success of Zootopia. The movie is also now the fourth highest grossing film of 2016 both domestically and globally.

Directed by Jon Favreau, The Jungle Book has been hailed by critics and audiences for both its technical achievement and its heart. The film currently holds a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and was #1 at the domestic box office this weekend with $43 million — down a slim 29%.
