“Flight of the Navigator” Star Arrested for Bank Robbery

Deleriyes Joe Cramer was arrested in British Columbia on Sunday after allegedly robbing a bank and fleeing from police according to the Daily Mail. Interestingly, Cramer was the star of Disney’s 1986 film Flight of the Navigator (although he was credited as “Joey Cramer” in the film).

From the Daily Mail:

Royal Canadian Mounted Police say that a man entered a Scotiabank in Sechelt wearing a wig, bandanna and sunglasses and demanded a teller hand over money, according to CBC News.

He then fled the scene, but after looking at surveillance footage authorities were able to identify him based on previous encounters with the man.

‘Despite the fact that a disguise was used during the robbery, the suspect was quickly identified by some of our officers, who had recently dealt with him on an unrelated matter,’ said Constable Harrison Mohr with the Sunshine Coast Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

‘We hope that the community feels safer now that the suspect has been apprehended.’

He then added; ‘Here on the Sunshine Coast, robberies are extremely rare. We’re fortunate that the officers were able to get the suspect into custody quickly.’

Cramer had previously found himself in trouble in 2011 when he was accused of writing fake checks.
