Disney Reportedly Considering Another “Tron” Starring Jared Leto
Some interesting news, programs: while earlier this week we learned about what a proposed Tron 3 might have looked like, now The Hollywood Reporter says the franchise may live on in another way. According to THR, Disney is considering a new Tron film starring Oscar-winner Jared Leto. Although no writer or director is currently attached and the project is said to be in the "exploratory stage," Tron: Legacy co-producer Justin Springer is set to return.

THR says, "Sources say this new project is not a direct sequel and is being built out of the source code of the deleted Tron 3 script. Leto would play a character named Ares, who has not appeared on screen before but was a key player in that script." This would imply that the film Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski recently described may still come to life in some form. However, it's unclear how much of that story would be used or even whether any other characters from Tron: Legacy would star as well.
Obviously this is still very early and Tron fans have gotten their hopes up only to be shut down before but we have to ask: does this sound like a Tron film you'd be excited to see?
