In this week’s special “First Look” issue of Entertainment Weekly, the magazine shares new images from two upcoming Disney releases: Pixar’s Incredibles 2 and Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. First up, this new shot from Incredibles 2 finds our favorite super family picking up almost exactly where they left off: with Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl battling The Underminer. However, this time around, Elastigirl will be the main focus of the film, with actress Holly Hunter telling EW, “Helen’s appetite for adventure comes to the fore, whereas before, she was driven to become Mrs. Incredible out of necessity, where she went into it to save her husband, I think this time she really meets her own ambition head-on. The ambition of being an adventure is something that we get to explore.”
But that’s not all — EW also gave us a sneak peek at The Nutcracker and the Four Realms starring Keira Knightley. In the first image, we see Knightley and her pink hair portraying the Sugar Plum Fairy.
The other actress in the shot is 17-year-old Mackenzie Foy, who plays Clara. She tells the magazine, “She’s very smart and independent. She loves to think and find the fastest way to solve a problem.” In the film, Clara braves the Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers, and Land of Sweets. Also in the film is acclaimed actress Helen Mirren. Regarding her character Mother Ginger, she told EW, “She’s a fierce character with a modern edge.” However, the film is said to also pay tribute to the Tchaikovsky’s score and will feature a ballet sequence.
Incredibles 2 will save the day on June 15th, 2018 while The Nutcracker and the Four Realms will dance into cinemas on November 2nd, 2018.
