The Disney Blogroll
News and Views from the Blogosphere
A bi-weekly roundup of Disney related news, opinions, photos, and more from the ever expanding blogosphere. This is the word on the cyber street, as it were. An anecdotal peak at America’s take on the Disney company and all its facets.
Some thoughts on the aging of Disney’s Corporate Icon
BoingBoing.net's Cory Doctorow (author of Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom) links to this gem in the New York Times. Read more bloggers who have linked to the BoingBoing.net article.
Additionally, Pops at 2HrLunch has some more thoughts on the NYT article.
Disney and Copyright
We follow up on the discussion from the last (and first!) column on copyright and the mouse.
Mindjack, which is really an online magazine, presents an article by J.D. Lasica titled The Killing Fields - Copyright Law and it's Challengers. And a Forbes columnist responds to Lessig's accusations in his blog and book "Free Culture".

In None Too Shabby Kelly writes a touching store about The impact Disneyland has on children with cancer patients.
When Becca was five years old she started having headaches, and she complained about her eyesight. I thought she needed glasses, so I took her to the eye doctor. She was sent to the doctor, they took x-rays, and they found a brain tumor. (more)
Petra Reviews her magic music experience at Disneyland: We got to see the back of Disney, which, if Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, is the crappiest place on earth. Not really, but it's pretty ugly. They wouldn't let us take any pictures either, so I can't show it to you. (more)
Came across a photoblog with some interesting trips of a one day visit to all four parks at Walt Disney World. Don't miss the pithy comments she makes about each picture. Btw, I've been assured that Rebecky is no relation to Redoobie or Doobekah. As for Photo 21, I have no idea why they're selling this either.
A link to the pictures of these tattoos was found on the LP boards, but they were so good, I had to post them here. Apparently a tattoo for every Disneyland Attraction is the goal.
Scotty takes us to a mirror world Disneyland in South Korea - Everland.
Everland is very, very similar to Disneyland (I've only been to the one in Anaheim) and I wouldn't be surprised if it was modelled directly after the California landmark. When you first walk in through the big gates you're in this 'town square.' Unlike Disneyland though, this town square was made up of various architectural styles from around the world - Victorian, Buddhist-temple style, Midevil[sic] castles, and even a giant mosque (all holding restaurants and gift shops.) BoingBoing.net's Cory Doctorow (author of Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom) brings us another fabulous look at some of the fringes of Disney culture. Of particular note on the Tron-Sector site, is this photo. Note the pink flamingos in the background adding to the raw authenticity of the scene.
