Warrior Games Set to Return to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Next Year

Revealed earlier today at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World, the Warrior Games will once again be returning to the venue next year.

What's Happening:

• The Warrior Games, an annual sports competition in the military community, is set to return to the Walt Disney World Resort in August of 2027.
• A year out from the event, a special presentation was held at the venue for the games - ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex - sharing that the event would return to the location for third time.
• The Warrior Games celebrate the strength, resilience, and healing journeys of wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans. ESPN Wide World of Sports previously hosted the Warrior Games in 2022 and 2024.
• Started in 2010, the Warrior Games are an annual, national military adaptive sports competition that provides wounded, ill, and injured service members an opportunity to showcase their strength and resilience.

• The Games foster support for recovery journeys and showcase the determination of military service members.
• In 2027, nearly 200 competitors will participate in 12 adaptive sports during the Warrior Games, like archery, cycling, field events, indoor rowing, pickleball, powerlifting, precision air, sitting volleyball, swimming, track, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby.
• All military services will be represented across the Army, Marine Corps, Navy/Coast Guard, Air Force/Space Force, and Special Operations Command.
• Today's presentation (which you can see below) featured representatives from the Warrior Games and Disney leadership, as well as former competitors.
• The Warrior Games return to Walt Disney World August 7 - 14, 2027 at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

• The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is uniquely suited for the Warrior Games because it offers not only over 260 acres of competition venues across indoor and outdoor facilities, but also accessible infrastructure, on-site transportation and accommodations throughout Walt Disney World.
• The gives the location an especially unique ability to host athletes, families, media, and spectators in one location.
• Additionally, Disney also has a long history of supporting the U.S. military through its Armed Forces Salute program and special military events.
