(October 25) THQ Inc. today announced the release of the Ratatouille video game for the PLAYSTATION3 computer entertainment system. The title marks THQs first Disney/Pixar release for the PLAYSTATION 3 system, following the companys highly successful summer launch of Ratatouille games across 11 different systems including the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and PSP (PlayStationPortable) system, Nintendos Wii home video game system, Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Windows PC and Mac, as well as wireless devices.

Ratatouille for the PLAYSTATION 3 system is inspired by the unique characters and storyline from the critically acclaimed feature film. Players will assume the role of Remy, a young rat whose love for great food puts him at odds with the needs of his family. The game allows players to experience highlights from the film, including memorable characters and key locations, as they explore five action-packed worlds, more than 20 challenging missions and mini-games, and go head-to-head in multiplayer action. The new PLAYSTATION 3 system version of Ratatouille will support the SIXAXIS Wireless Controller, featuring motion-sensing technology to detect natural and intuitive movements.

Later this month, THQ also plans to release Ratatouille Food Frenzy for the Nintendo DS. Picking up where the film left off, the video game serves up an all new storyline taking full advantage of the DSs capabilities. Players will use the touch screen to cook food, stir pans and fry vegetables while enjoying seven new cooking, puzzle and action games spanning more than 100 different levels. In order to cool off pots and meals hot off the stove, players will blow into the DS microphone. The opening of Remy and Emiles new restaurant, La Ratatouille, will rest in the aprons of players as they guide the duo to master chef status.

THQs Heavy Iron Studios leads development for Ratatouille across THQs Studio System with support from Helixe who developed Ratatouille Food Frenzy.
