Brad Gilmour Named President of All Three Parks at SeaWorld Orlando

Now, about that parking lot...

A new change in leadership has been made at SeaWorld Orlando, with Brad Gilmour now overseeing the three parks at the destination.

What's Happening:

  • SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando and Discovery Cove have announced that Brad Gilmour has been named Park President of all three properties, effective immediately.
  • Gilmour has 23 years of experience with the company, having begun his career at Discovery Cove in 2003. He has since held multiple leadership roles across SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Aquatica, and has served as Park President of Discovery Cove and Aquatica Orlando since 2023.
  • Gilmour is active in the greater Orlando community, serving on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Florida and the Board of Directors for Visit Orlando. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida.
  • Gilmour succeeds Jon “JP” Peterson who most recently served as Park President for SeaWorld Orlando.

What They're Saying:

  • Kyle Miller, Co-Chief Operating Officer, United Parks & Resorts: “Brad has consistently demonstrated the kind of leadership that puts our guests and our ambassadors first. His deep operational knowledge, combined with his proven track record across our Orlando parks, makes him exactly the right leader to guide our parks into their next chapter. I’m confident our teams will benefit greatly from his leadership...We are grateful for JP’s contributions."

Gilmour:

  • Prior to this promotion, Gilmour served as president of Discovery Cove and Aquatica, now adding SeaWorld into his purview.
  • While not titled as such, he is now presiding over the whole of the SeaWorld Orlando as a resort, and the three parks it contains.
  • He started at the parks back in 2003 as a supervisor at Discovery Cove, overseeing the guest relations before jumping over to Aquatica, SeaWorld's water park, in 2007 as their manager of operations.
  • In 2012, he became a manager of park operations at SeaWorld Orlando, and advancing to Director of park operations in 2014.
